SIS/Bloodwork

Let us start with my appointment time at 3, arrived at 3:10... Got lost.  Traveling from work downtown takes me in the opposite direction of what I am used to.  I ended up going a crazy strange backward way but I found it!

Anyhow I checked in and sat in the waiting room for about 30 minutes before a very lovely older woman, Linda, came to get me.  She took me back through so many halls (the Woman's health area on the 4th floor is a maze!) to the ultrasound area.  Linda shared with me that she has been doing high risk scans for 35 years and has been doing IVF scans for years on the weekends.  Now this is her full time gig and you can tell. She had her little tote with her lunch under her little desk in the corner of a small room to begin with.  I have to say she is very good at her job.  She told me exactly what she was going to do and then what the Dr would do from start to finish.  She also shared what symptoms I may have and discomfort.  She told me to take Ibuprofens and I should be fine.

I will leave out the extra special details but Linda did her scans first and all looked fine.  When she was finished making sure I had ovaries and a normal looking uterus she left the room to get Dr. Krause. Linda came back twice while we waited to give me updates.

Dr. Krause entered the room with Linda and the intern that I had met days before, Christine Harris.  Dr. Krause asked me if I minded that the intern watch the procedure to which I responded with "sure".  What are you supposed to say?  Then the next thing I know she asks if a Dr. Todd can do the procedure and she will supervise, great!  So I had four witnesses to my personal region and procedure.  I have to say Dr. Todd did fine and Dr. Krause said everything looks great.

Linda told me she would manipulate the images after my visit and make sure there was nothing hiding but she thought they looked great.

Dr. Krause said she would call me in a few days to let me know all my results and send in my application for the Attain program.  Once the paperwork is received by Attain it should be 2 or 3 days to approval status.  Then we work on money.

I also had blood drawn.  It's different at UL, I am not educated yet in their attire.  I need to figure out what the different levels of hierarchy wear there.  Most of the girls in the lab were wearing black scrubs but the girl that drew my blood was in pink scrubs with a cloth white jacket thing on... hmm.  I'm not bruised so she did a good job however my arm is sore.

Dr. Krause did say I needed to be on birth control for a month which puts us to 11/25 which would be the December cycle.  She also said December was filling up really fast and that might push us to January.  At first after talking to Kyle we were going to call ahead of time and see if we could get added to December before it was full but we changed our minds.  Why are we rushing?  I have a calmness that says to be still and follow their lead.  If she wants us to wait until January then we will.

Everything happens for a reason, right?
