Test Results

Dr. Krause called yesterday afternoon to let us know my test results.  She said all of the tests were fine.

My Blood Test Education Time:

Thyroid:  Thyroid hormone tests are blood tests that check how well the thyroid camera gland is working. The thyroid gland makes hormones that regulate the way the body uses energy.

Rubella: A rubella blood test detects antibodies that are made by the immune system to help kill the rubella virus. These antibodies remain in the bloodstream for years. The presence of certain antibodies means a recent infection, a past infection, or that you have been vaccinated against the disease.

Antibodies: Antibody tests are done to find certain antibodies that attack red blood cells. Antibodies are proteins made by the immune system. Normally, antibodies bind to foreign substances, such as bacteria and viruses, and cause them to be destroyed.

Autoimmune: Autoimmunity involves the loss of normal immune homeostasis such that the organism produces an abnormal response to its own self tissue. The hallmark of autoimmune diseases generally involves the presence of self-reactive T cells, autoantibodies and inflammation. An area of intense research is determining why the immune system turns against its host. Over the past decade, research has greatly advanced our understanding of autoimmunity and the scientific findings from these investigations are translating new clinical laboratory studies of patients to aid in diagnoses.

Dr. Krause told me that my autoimmune number was 1.34 which was normal for a woman of my age, I think she was calling me old! :(

Next Steps:  The Dr will forward my information and application to the Attain Program for review.  I should receive my documents to review and sign in 2-3 days.  After that it is time to work on the money tree!  She will also discuss my cycle medication with Dr. Bohler.  I am also supposed to call Yvonne, my Coordinator the week of Thanksgiving to make my schedule to begin a cycle post Christmas.  At least these people are ON IT!  She asked if I had any questions, I said no, I think you guys have it covered!
